Wilderness First Responder Badge from NOLS Wilderness Medicine

Growing up in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, adventure has always been a word that stuck with me. Hiking, backpacking, camping, skiing, fly fishing and whitewater rafting became regular activities. These activities became the sources and roots of my adventures and eventually a way for me to connect with landscapes. Now these adventures are more than just “fun”, an adventure means exploring new places, awing at nature’s creations, and appreciating the wilderness.

I recently graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and minors in Business and Geology. My adventurous spirit is stronger than ever and I’m always planning for the next weekend or week-long adventure—whether that means to the mountains, the desert, or beyond.

My interest in photography started in a high school film class and quickly burst into carrying my camera on every adventure. Landscapes have always been my favorite. I love the power of landscape photography for its ability to capture nature’s humility and delicacy. My goal as a photographer is to reproduce my own feelings in a specific moment, where I’m able to connect with a landscape, in the hopes that I can allow a viewer to feel those same feelings.

My blog is an extension of this goal. I write every-so-often about moments spent outside. We live in a fantastic world, with so much to see and so little time. We can learn so much from it. I hope my photographs and stories may one day serve as an inspiration for others to get out and truly see the world, so they can appreciate it as much as I do.
